BASIC DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
Generally, standard valves will be designed
and manufactured in basic construction as per
the descriptions here below unless users
specified the other optional design. Standard
design is defined as most popular demand in
valves and piping industries.
Valve selection will be in accordance with
the relevant piping class data sheet and
associated valve data sheet. Additional
requirements for valves designated with
individual instrument tag number in the specific
data sheet by end users' engineering company.

PORT TYPE(FULL, REDUCE, REGULAR)

* Full bore : The port size of ball diameter to be
equivalent with inside of end piece. At least, the port
must be free from pigging and pressure drop,
normally the inner port of valve becomes 100% in
compliance to pigging port. Full port valves are
defined as having minimum bore diameters as
specified in Annex A of ANSI B 16.34 for valves up to
24 NPS. For valves above 24 NPS up to 36 NPS,
bore diameter shall be as agreed upon between
purchaser and manufacturers.
* Reduce & Regular bore : Reduce & Regular port
valves are defined by as per brochure information
and have its bore diameter smaller than full bore and
shall be considered as per listed in table 1 of MSS-
SP-72.
END CONNECTIONS (FLANGED END, WELDING END)

* Flanged end or welding end is available for fully
welded ball valve as well as side-entry ball valves,
also one side flanged & another side welding end is
available on request.
* Basically, flanges for ANSI class 150# to 600# are
RF type, the others are RTJ type.
However, there are many kinds of flange types, for
examples, "Plain Face (PF)", Raised Face (RF)",
"Small Male and Female", "Large Tongue and
Groove", "Small Tongue and Groove", "Ring Type
Joint (RTJ)", "Flat Face (FF)". The end flange facing
and joint groove will be matched in accordance
with ASME B 16.5 or ASME B 16.47 series A.The
groove dimensions and surface finish for static face
sealing will be in accordance with BS 4518.
* Welding end must be specified in the type of
connections between "Socket weld (SW)" and "Butt
Weld (BW)". Unless specifically designated by user,
KMC will apply socket weld for 2 NPS and smaller
sizes according to ANSI B 16.11 and, then, butt weld
for 2 NPS and larger sizes according to ANSI B
16.25. The wall thickness of welding ends will satisfy
the pressure/temperature rating of the class. If
welded end valves with pup pipe pieces are required
the length of the pups must be given and must
instruct radiographic test (R/T) for the welding
points. There will be a smooth internal diameter
transition between welding end and pup pipes.
Quality assurance is conducted by a team of
experienced staffs, using the most advanced
facilities, strictly in compliance with international
standards. Operation is implemented in
accordance to API Monogram (license 6D-0205)
and ISO 9001 Manual and is subject to annual
inspection by Korea Gas Safety Corporation,
Korea Chemical Inspection and Testing Institute,
Korea Machinery Meter and Petrochemical
Testing & Research Institute, and other
International third Party Inspectors nominated by
clients.
