Before using valves, it shall be confirmed that specifications provided from Ayna  is in accordance with the terms required by end users.  Namely, Materials, Pressure rating, Size, Fluid, and Working temperature shall
be confirmed. This is for Graver Technologies' Purchase Order Number "19123" on 11th JAN 2001.

The attached data sheet here behind
"A" will show the relevant informations.

1. End Connections - It shall be confirmed that standard and kind of end connection of valve is adjustable to the flange connection of pipe line. For example, AYNA will provide RF/RTJ in accordance with Ansi B16.5
and Weld ends in accordance with Ansi B16.25 etc.

1-1. The provided valves' ends are all Raised Face(RF) flanged according to Ansi B 16.5

2. Face to Face or End to End Dimension  - It shall be confirmed that dimension between flanges of both sides in pipe line, valve is installed in accordance with the standard of Ansi B16.10 or the other approved
standard unless otherwise indicate the deviations.

2-1. The provided valves' face to face dimension is indicated in our assembly drawings. ( 8 inch Ansi Class 600RF : 660mm )

3. Ball Position - It shall be confirmed that valve in delivery is opened position, and also valve in installation position shall be full opend.

3-1. The provided valves are included positional indicator on top of worm gear boxes to show the existing ball position.

4. Confirmation/Inspection - Before installing valve, it shall be confirmed whether there are foreign substances such as soil, sand, and dust, (Foreign substances inroads in to valve during keeping at job site from
clear condition)

4-1. A plastic end cap will be completed to the inner side of the valves when delivering.

5. Fastener - Stud Bolt/Nut, which is used to combine stud bolt, nut and valve used in  combining body of valve and end closure with pipe line shall have equivalent material and quality. ( Refer our drawings )

6. There are stand legs for the valve  4" and larger sizes, however in case of large-sized valves, concrete base installation  is required for bearing weights into consideration.

6-1. The provided valves are not included lengs  on request of Graver Technologies purpose.

7. Note that workers in valve installation shall not operate valve unnecessarily. Users and workers must read this manual prior to operating valves.

8. Any behavior to give direct impact during transportation and installation of valve shall not be allowed. Especially, care shall be taken at operator (Gear, Actuator) parts.


   OPERATION MANUAL        

1. Valve is opened when turning it in count-clockwise direction and close to clockwise. Check present position prior operating and try to open or close slowly.

1-1. Not excessive than 500N.m by manpower will be allowable as maximum operating torque for forcing at gear handwheel.

2. Ball valve is quarter turn fully opened and closed. A stopper device will fix the position to prevent off turning.

2-1. The provided gear operator model is SBWG-04-1 that has its ratio 153:1  and the numbers of turning  38.25 times for full open to full close.

3. Operation shall be watching positioner or indicator showing open and close.

4. Excessive strength shall not be given, and on the first operation in open state, torque (break out torque) can be stronger than normal torque at differencial pressure given. Check the working pressure given in pipe
line.

5. It shall be known thoroughly that operator is various  such as lever, manual gear, actuators(Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electric etc.,) Suitable operators must be specified when ordering and placing the enquiry. We
recommends that 6 inch and larger sizes to be installed with gear operators or actuators basically. Do not use any tools except Ayna provided one to operate valves (Lever or Wheel).

6. It is desirable that ball valve for shut-off purpose is only for full open / full close,  half  open / half close state for a long time may have an effect on soft seats. For the purpose of modulating, the seat materials must
be specified metal to metal.

6-1. The provided valves are all for full open, full close purpose.


7. Operation shall be done by authorized person if possible.  

8. To make easy operation for a valve that has been neglected without operation for a long time, we recommend a proper lubricating prior to operation. In case of non-self lublicating seat materials such as Nylon,
Viton etc.,  require frequent lubricating.(PTFE teflon or Devlon seat is self lubricating material)

8-1. The provided valves are "Devlon" seated, it may require 1 time lubricating injection to the seats per 6 month or before operating.

8-2. The lubricant maker will recommend some proper grease items. ( Refer the following maintenance manual for the information of the makers )

9. The provided KMC worm gears are all weather proof designed itself,  however each 2 years or 3 years later must be dried the grease of the gear inside. Accordingly the proper grease such as "Shell Albania" shall
be injected in to the hole. Otherwise the gear can not be used for a long enough time over than its lifespan. / / /


    MAINTENANCE MANUAL    

1. Stem part.

1-1. Before disassembling : CAUTION - Stem, internal pressure of the valve shall be eliminated by releasing drain plug from lower side of the valves. Otherwise, safety accident may occur due to release of powerful
pressure at the time of disassembling of stem part components.

1-2. Two O-Rings are installed between stem and stem neck to seal the pressure. For miner leaking from stem parts, a sealant can be suitable to protect the leakage. When the valves shutdown, the O-Rings can be
replaced in easy methods. Ayna will provide the O-Rings immediately.

1-3. At this time, it is desirable that are replaced together as Graphite  in lower side of two O-Rings may be damaged(Stem Packing Ring).

1-4. Replacing Procedure of Stem O-Rings : Numbers in ( ) are drawing's part number.

a. Dismantle gear box(10) from the valve.
b. Bleed or drain inner pressure from Drain Plug(8) or Bleed Plug(9-3).
c. Release socket head screw(6-5) from neck flange(6-1).
d. Take off neck flange and neck-s(6-2).
e. Pull out stem-s(5-1) from neck-s.



f. Take away DU bush(5-6 & 6-8), thrust ring(5-5), o-ring(5-3 & 6-3), neck packing ring (6-4), thrust bearing(6-7).
g. Replace O-Rings(5-3 & 6-3) with new one.
h. Replace Stem Packing Ring(5-4) with new one.
i.  Assemble all a.m parts contrary to dismantling.

1-5. Lublicant : Periodic injection of lubricant ensures smooth  and safe operation and maintenance of stem part.

1-6. Emergency Sealing : If an emergency sealant is necessary  due to leakage between ball and seats, sealing with sealant may be possible.

a. Maker and Brand of Lubricant or Sealant : We like to recommend two companies.

* Lubricant : The sort of lublicant is not severely restricted to use, only considerable the working temperature and fluidic harmlessness. Generally a multi-purpose grease with PTFE is suitable for gas or oil.

1-7. Note : In Ayna ball valves, Injection fittings can be installed  at stem part and seat ring from more than 4" and larger sizes generally. Chargeable lubricant and sealant volume shall be used with considerable
calculation. There are various products of sealant according to working pressure, kind of fluid & working temperature or pressure.

2. Body part.

2-1. Only skilled experts shall disassemble because the disassembling  of body of valves has a significant effect on the whole valve function.   The kind  of sealing part in body and requirements of each part  shall be
confirmed before disassembling and other necessary preparations  shall be done before assembling by reference to the drawing surely. Ayna will give notice of disassembling procedure or the possibilities in case
by case.

2-2. The ball shall be surely open position before disassembling body.   If you disassemble in close position, the outside of ball can be damaged.

2-3. Each fastener shall be released diagonally one by one in turns,  as both side of body is in end closure and bolted.

2-4 The repair works shall be performed quickly after disassembling valve.   In case of neglecting for a long term, rust occurrence, damage of packing gland,  face damage of ball and seat, and others be worried.

2-5. In recombining, all of disassembled parts shall be cleaned clearly,  and you shall be careful so that foreign substances may not flow into valve. Especially the seat components must be cleaned carefully with soft
brush.

2-6. For unpredictable problems such as change of torque  and leakage occurrence after recombining, ability of worker,  influence of replacement parts shall be careful. Measure and record the value in details before
disassemble.
       
2-7. Especially, precision shall be required in replacement of ball and seat. Without sectional drawings for the valve construction disassembling is not allowed.
    
2-8. Before installation after recombining, shell test and seat test shall  be performed surely in accordance with the provided test method.

2-9. Appropriate lubricant shall be used surely after recombining. The kind of lubricant materials depends on the fluid  and its temperature and pressure.

2-10. Emergency sealant also depend on the conditions as same as lubricant.  If users have no any idea for lubricant and sealant materials, Ayna can recommend the proper maker or materials.

2-11. When other maintenance related problems occur, you shall inquire  of Ayna at any time. Do not deal with a problem by yourslef only.

2-12. Ayna is responsible only for the valve has been used and operated  in right way in accordance with this manuals or reasonable mechanical treatment. Any small problems shall be recorded and verified to call
Kmc to account the responsibility.
